Problem Possible Causes Remedies
Exported mesh will not show up in Trainz

Incorrect filename and or path

Check filenames in config.txt file match actual filename

Mismatching capitals Check capitals in config match actual filename
Mismatching brackets Check all instances of { have a corresponding }
Incorrect paths in level of detail file Check paths in lm.txt file for mismatching paths and capitals.
Mismatching attachment points in level of detail file Check that any attachment points in the main mesh are added to all subsequent meshes and are located in the same point as they are in the main mesh.
Exported mesh shows up but is all white. Wrong size texture used

Each Texture dimension must be a multiple of 8 i.e. 8x8,16x16, 32x32, 256 x 256, 512 x 512 and 1024 x 1024.

NOTE Textures do not need to be square. Sizes such as 256 x 512, 512 x 1024 etc can also be used in combinations where the largest dimension is no greater than 4 times the smaller. i.e 128 x 512. A multiplying factor of 3 is not allowed i.e. 128 x 384

TGA files are compressed

Save as uncompressed TGA from within graphics program

.texture.txt files corrupt or missing re-export mesh to repair/add texture.txt files
.texture.txt files have been renamed after export Change .texture.txt files back to original name

Incorrect dummy/bone name

All dummies/bones names must begin with b.r.

Animations are incomplete Objects and dummies/bones linked incorrectly All animated objects must be linked to dummies/bones and they in turn must be linked to a main dummy/bone such as b.r.main. All static objects must be linked to a main dummy/bone such as b.r.main.
